I’ve been a member of professional organizations my entire nursing career, but no group has been as nurturing or essential to my success as APIC! My experience with our chapter only furthers my desire to serve and continue the excellent work put in motion by past and current leaders.
I became an APIC DFW member in the Fall of 2015. Since joining, I've had the pleasure of learning more about our chapter by serving on committees (Education, Nominating and Public Relations) and establishing a new SIG. In addition to my work locally, serving on APIC's Communications Committee has provided me insight into APIC's long-term strategic vision.
I seek your support and trust to continue carrying us towards the next generation of APIC DFW. Thank you for your consideration!
I have been honored to serve since 2017 as your chapter treasurer. I have grown and learned a lot in this role from other current and past treasurer's. I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve the chapter and help ensure it's current and future financial solvency. I would love nothing more than to be able to continue serving the chapter by managing it's financial operations for an additional term.
board of directors
I have been a long time member of APIC DFW and have had many opportunities to serve the chapter as a presenter, public health representative, infection preventionist, and a co-chair for the Professional Advancement Committee. I would love to take the next step to serve on the chapter board to provide more direct assistance to our chapter's dedicated volunteers and to help achieve the chapter's goals.
I am excited to be considered to serve as a Board member for APIC. In my time with APIC I have grown to really enjoy working with such an amazing group of people. In 2017 I had the opportunity to serve as the Conference Committee Chair and have continued to serve in this role in 2018. I am particularly interested in serving as a champion for the mentoring program. Many people within the organization serve as mentors for members and do not even know they are doing so. I would like to cultivate this program as well as continue to build professional advancement for the chapter.
I recently transitioned into a leadership role in Infection prevention. It has presented challenges and rewards and if not for my mentors I would not be able to take this opportunity. My qualities exhibit diligence, positivity, and tenacity.
I have been active in APIC DFW since entering the IP field in 2015. I have served in various capacities already and I am very interested in learning more about how our organization runs behind the scenes. I would be an available, organized, and communicative Board Member and would be honored to serve.
As corporate director of infection prevention and control at Baylor Scott and White Health, I'm very fortunate to have the experience of working with a large team of infection prevention professionals across multiple healthcare settings. I've been continuously certified (CIC) since 2009. I previously served a two-year term as APIC-DFW secretary, and was, (for multiple years) APIC-DFW's chapter legislative representative. Volunteering for APIC-DFW has always been very rewarding, on both a personal and professional level, and I'm eager to volunteer once again. I kindly ask for you to consider me as a candidate. If elected, I will serve honorably, steadfastly, and with a collaborative spirit. It would be my privilege to support, elevate and highlight our profession in this role.
Infection Prevention is my passion, and I would love the opportunity to serve APIC DFW again, in whatever capacity I can. I've served on the Professional Advancement SIG for 5 years, and as Board Member #2 during my time in DFW, and now that I have completed my BSN, I will be more active in meetings and other activities to provide support and resources for reducing infections across DFW.
I would like to express my willingness to serve the APIC-DFW chapter. I have been an Infection Preventionist for 3 years after transitioning from being a NICU manager to the Assistant Director of an IP program. I currently serve as the IP Program Manager for an entire healthcare system. In this role, I have the opportunity to prepare our entities for TJC survey and help our IP teams reduce HAI's through Process Improvement projects. I became a certified IP after 22 months of practice. I find my passion for IP growing, which is why I wish to serve the chapter more. Since joining APIC and the APIC-DFW chapter, I have learned that the resources of the chapter along with the networking it provides has served my personal practice and I wish to do that for other Infection Preventionists in the DFW area. It would be an honor to serve our chapter.
I have been an Infection Preventionist at an Acute Care Facility in Central Texas for 3 years. I came to this role after 14 years as a charge nurse in a busy Emergency Room. This career change has been a challenging yet rewarding ONE. Infection Prevention changes everyday and I am constantly learning new things. I hope that by being the sole infection preventionist for our small facility I can be an asset to an APIC DFW committee or board. I recently obtained my CIC in November of 2017. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow with APIC DFW.
I am relatively new to Infection Prevention. Attending APIC-DFW meetings has given me the opportunity to connect with the members and learn from the awesome talent we have amongst us. I am impressed by the work this chapter is doing in bringing forward different educational opportunities and supporting its members in various forms. I would like to actively participate in the chapter and be more involved in supporting the chapter - and starting with the nominating committee seems to the best way for me to do that!
Served as a co-chair of the social committee for 2 years (2016 and 2017). Have become proficient in Infection Prevention, CIC certified x 4 years. I have a positive and upbeat personality that will bring fun and zeal to the committee
